Records, 1790-1984.

Organizational records are principally those of the New York City branch. Records of the Secretary contain correspondence, bylaws, Glee Club materials, printed letters and reports. Membership records include mostly dues records books, correspondence, lists and membership cards. Records of the Treasurer include correspondence, bankbooks, ledgers, cancelled checks, bank statements, and check stubs. Also included are invitations, seating lists, and menus from the annual St. Patrick's Banquet, 1863-1984. Material used to write the yearbook encompasses quarterly meeting minutes, correspondence, addresses, and proofs, 1941-1964, and actual yearbooks, 1890s-1960s. Collection also contains material used by Richard C. Murphy, Secretary, to write a book on the history of the Society and includes correspondence, notes, the book's drafts and manuscripts, and other background materials. Collection also includes other publications sponsored by the New York branch and by other branches, including the Baltimore and Philadelphia branches.
